Zambrano a Jay - Not the Good one
Another pitcher joins the Ligaments of the Willing as ex-Met and Devil Ray Victor Zambrano has signed a minor league deal with the Jays.
If healthy, Zambrano could pitch 150 innings... and walk 150 batters. Zambrano has good stuff, or at least he did prior to surgery last May, but he simply can't locate it, having issued 382 walks in 682 career innings.
The "if healthy" caveat is a big one, too, as Zambrano had an elbow tendon repaired, a ligament replaced, bone spurs removed and his tires rotated. Still, another arm never hurts and if the Jays can pull the double miracle of a Zambrano who 1) is healthy and 2) learns to throw strikes suddenly at age 31, then they could have something.
They have a better chance of trading him for Scott Kazmir again.
